COPING WITH A HARSH REALITY
The extremely warm welcome of the Colombians quickly dispels the many preconceived notions that abound with reference to the country. Music can be heard everywhere – from the highest summits of the Andes to the Amazonian forest and the Pacific and Caribbean shores. Behind this wonder and enchantment, however, lies the harsh reality of the displacement of thousands of Colombians due to armed conflict. The Sisters of Charity of Saint Mary work with Médecins Sans Frontières to come to the aid of these individuals.
